Bukit Timah Expressway abbreviated as BKE, is the Singapore’s great highway which begins at the Expressway in Pan Island that is found in Bukit Timah. The Expressway travels towards the Causeway at Johor-Singapore and in Woodlands checkpoint in its North direction. Bukit Timah Expressway BKE
There was a committee for calling tenders who were willing to have the expressway built on 22/05/1982 where the construction was meant to begin after that. The construction specifically began in 1983 where the construction was done in two stages. The first stage was built through the Mandai road from Woodlands and stage two was built towards the Pan Island Expressway from the Mandai road. Since Bukit Timah area is full of hills, when stage two of construction was being done, there were explosives which were used to have the construction area well cleared.

When the construction process was going on, it led to an emergent of Bukit Panjang road which emerged due to Bukit Timah Expressway towards the Woodlands road, and there were also new interchanges that were added at Woodlands road and Mandai road. There were some Kampong roads like Lorong Garpu, Jalan Kwok Min, and Lorong Kingkit that were hence demolished. Jalan Kwok small section remained where the Armed Forces of Singapore took over it from 1997. The area was then opened in 1985 December.

There was the construction of Kranji Expressway, but before then, the Bukit Timah Expressway was the expressway that was so short in Singapore which its length was about 6.2 miles (10 kilometers). The Bukit Timah Expressway is a carriageway with six-lane dual, having three lanes on each side. There was construction in 2003 of LTA working on converting a small expressway section from intersecting with Kranji expressway to a dual four-lane carriage at the Seletar Expressway. The project was constructed till the mid of 2005.
The Earth station satellite of Bukit Timah is located around the flyover of Chantek. The Kranji Marsiling MRT Tracks huge fence is located along Woodlands Avenue. BKE is the best highway road that was initially built in Singapore. It was constructed to access great features found in Bukit Timah which includes the Holland Village, Bukit Timah Nature Reserves, among others.
